Sól Ey is an Icelandic composer, performer and new media artist based in Copenhagen. 'Fluxus' uses biomaterials made of algae to create sounds. This interactive installation is part of Christy’s and Sól Ey’s ongoing research on how algae can be used to create electronics and interactive art. By making use of the algae’s natural properties the constant fluxus of the algae is made audible. Thus, the invisible interactions, which are affected by the environment, light, temperature, and touch, become perceivable by the audience. The project is supported by Art Music Denmark, Amarte Fonds, Koda Kultur and Statens Kunstfond. Supported and commissioned by Stichting Rizoom.
