traumburg is a multisensory experience – varying from musical and art performances, installations, lectures and exhibitions, all in a beautiful castle near Magdeburg, germany.

Dear community,
It's been a little quiet around here since our last gathering back in July. Here’s some news from us. And some story time. Let us begin with perhaps our biggest announcement on the future of Traumburg:
We will not be having an edition of Traumburg in the summer of 2025.
But this is not the end of Traumburg. It might just be the beginning of a new chapter. Let us explain.
Traumburg began as a small, rather spontaneous gathering of around 50-60 friends and friends of friends back in 2020. The initial idea was to have a big party after the first COVID lockdown, a celebration of being able to be together again. We accidently stumbled upon this mystical place and quickly after realised we unlocked bits of magic that were meant to explore in future spheres.
Over the next 5 years we grew a community that is very close to our heart. Friendships emerged, connecting places hundreds of kilometres apart. Traumburg organically merged into a harmonious group sharing values in music, art and a joined view on creating a community-driven space. Each year, Traumburg got a little bigger but never lost any of the sparkle we predicted in our first edition but rather won so much with every time.
This is where we are now.
And we are beyond grateful. To you: all the supporters and artists, who joined along the way. All the guests who came to marvel with us.
After 5 years it is time to take a break. It is time to breathe. It is time to reflect on how we see Traumburg growing into a sustainable future. It is time to give ourselves time. The collective behind Traumburg is a group of unprofessionals. We did not know what we were starting back then and with time we learned how to run a festival. Sort of. We are all volunteers. Traumburg never aimed for profit. We receive no funding. For each edition that followed our debut we take almost a full year to create Traumburg. It is pure passion that drives us. We love that. But we need a break.
It is not our intention to put all our work to bed for two years and start again right where we left off. We want to use this time off to look out for new things that are yet to be explored. We want to use this time off to recharge our batteries. We want to use this time off to gather new streams of inspiration and eventually come back with new perspectives. Sometimes it is best to hold your breath for just a moment when something beautiful is happening, just to see clear, where to go next.
To leave off on a more cheerful note, we are not planning to disappear completely. We still want to pop up every now and then in places that are dear to us, just like we did in the past. More on that will follow soon. For now that’s all. Thank you so much for taking part. We can’t wait to see you again. Here and there the next year and back in Dornburg in the year after that.
Love and take care of yourselves.
- Traumburg
Traumburg is a reflection of life, it’s a process, a beautiful one, never perfectly smooth, always bumpy, but what makes it real, what shows us how purely human this momentary gathering is, is how we learn to navigate the bumps as a team and community. It is our hope that this energy and mentality catches on to everyone that participates and attends each year, as this is how a festival catalyses real growth, by showing that we owe each other community, love, and support.
we want to wholeheartedly thank all participating artists, supporters and guests for being a part of this. For their openness, vulnerability, and braveness to share a part of themselves with all of us.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the supporters who made this year's festival possible; we literally couldn't have done it without you. Your enthusiasm and dedication are the driving force behind our commitment to making future events even more memorable.

"Traumburg is an independent arts and music festival focused primarily on interdiciplinary arts, performances and electronic music. Since our first edition in the summer of 2020, we have gathered annually to connect, share cultural exchanges, and escape the rush of everyday life. The festival takes place at Schloss Dornburg, a wildly romantic baroque castle deep in the East German countryside, which we transform into a magical landscape of exhibitions, installations, and interdisciplinary performances. More than just a standard event, Traumburg is a community-led, ""Do-It-With-Others"" (DIWO) initiative. We believe in turning passive consumers into proactive creators. Through our open call, we invite you to bring your craftsmanship, creative ideas, and talents to the table, helping us shape the festival collaboratively around our unique annual theme. While we love seeing attendees contribute to the project's ever-evolving nature, you are absolutely welcome to simply come relax and enjoy the long weekend! Ultimately, a ticket to Traumburg isn't just standard festival entry, it is an invitation to join a community experience and help bring a variety of artistic visions to life.
To keep everyone safe and ensure a great experience, please leave weapons, sharp objects (including pocket knives), fireworks, animals, drones and other professional audio/video recording equipment at home. Safety is our top priority, so bringing any dangerous items may result in confiscation or removal from the festival grounds.
Yes! Traumburg is created by friends, for friends, so you are entirely welcome to bring your own food and beverages. However, if you prefer to travel light or want to treat yourself, we'll also have a fantastic selection of food trucks and several fully stocked bars on-site for you to enjoy.
Yes. An Awareness Team and a Medic Team will be available on-site at all times throughout the festival. If you or a friend are feeling unwell, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the Awareness Team, who can be identified by their bright vests, or to the staff at the bar. You can also read more about our awareness concept on our website. At the same time, creating a safer space is a shared responsibility, so we ask everyone to stay mindful of other people’s comfort, boundaries, and wellbeing. Traumburg aims to be an inclusive space where open-minded people of all races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions, cultures, genders, and sexualities can come together. We are committed to making the festival as safe as possible for everyone and do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or the public broadcasting of ideological messages on the festival grounds.
Yes, you can! However, please keep in mind that on-site campervan parking is limited and you need a camper ticket. This you can buy in our ticket shop. Spots fill up quickly, so if we reach full capacity, we will kindly direct you to alternative camping areas just outside of Dornburg.
No, please do not bring any pets to the festival. We do not know if any of our guests might be uncomfortable around certain animals. Moreover, a festival with such an amount of stimulation is not a place for a pet.
If you bring any beverages with the so-called German ‘Pfand’, please take these home again. It is a fairly big amount of work for us to bring back the ‘Pfand’ and we are not aiming for that money here.
You will find a great variety of food options at Traumburg! Most importantly, to align with our values, all the food we offer is strictly vegetarian or vegan. We also try to make sure the food trucks are affordable. If you're just looking for a quick bite, our beloved Kiosk will be back this year to sell a selection of snacks.
Traumburg aims to be a safe and respectful space for everyone. If you choose to use substances, please do so responsibly and always keep your own safety, as well as the safety of others, in mind. Make sure to take breaks, stay hydrated, and eat enough throughout the festival. If you feel unwell or notice someone in distress, please contact the Awareness Team or the Medic Team immediately. Your health and safety always come first, so please look out for one another and help create a safe and supportive environment for everyone. Please note that public consumption of substances is not allowed on the festival grounds. In addition, the following substances are strictly prohibited: GHB/GBL, DMT, crystal meth, heroin and other opiates, and crack. These substances pose a particularly high risk, and anyone found carrying or using them will be required to leave the festival grounds and will not be allowed to return.
Yes, but only in our designated BBQ area. Due to severe fire hazards, open fires and BBQs are strictly prohibited on the campsites. Safety is our top priority, so any violation of this rule will result in immediate removal from the festival.
If you lose something during the festival, please check with the Entrance & Info Point to see if it has been handed in. After the festival ends, you can still pick up lost items on-site until Tuesday, 28 July at 09:00 AM. Following this deadline, we will post a list of all remaining lost items in our official Telegram group so you can arrange to claim them.
